Quick Tips for Embracing Change

Want to know a secret to embracing career change / life change at 40+? (Or any age?)

➡️ Relentlessly silence perfectionism. ⬅️

🛑 Silence the inner voice that tries to say you can’t do something really big, or really new, or even small because you might fail. Or that you’re too much. Or not enough.

🛑 Shut down the voice that whispers self-doubt and sabotage.

The only failure is to let that fearful voice keep holding you back.
Be open to challenge, and change, and dreaming.

Bonus tips:
📣 Be your own loudest cheerleader, and
🔥 Surround yourself with people who throw kerosene on the flames of your hope, and water on the sparks of your fears.

I’m almost four months into a major career change after 16 years with my prior company. I’m a few years into empty nesting amongst other life changes, too — these tips, this poem on this mug (and my faith) capture how I’ve been able to thrive despite wrestling the natural fears that accompany change.

“This is the season
she will make
beautiful things.
Not perfect things
but honest things
that speak to who
she is and who she is
called to be.”
-
Morgan Harper-Nichols (MHN)

Perfection is a fallacy.
Choose beautiful, brave, and honest things! You are never too late to learn who you are, and who you are called to be. I believe in you! I hope you do, too.

As always - I’m cheering you on,

🥳 Amy
