Make Room for Positive Risks

Is it possible the unique opportunity in front of you is the Lord opening doors?

Yesterday I spent time connecting with other local professionals in our ATD-Chattanooga network. I always enjoy these opportunities and I loved getting to join a couple of other local authors as we shared our books at a professional book swap. I’m a talent management professional by trade and so enjoy the work I do. It’s always a gift to chat with and learn from others in my field.

But honestly - it’s been a busy season. And definitely a busy week. I actually had to talk myself out of bailing on this wonderful connection a few times because of the mountain of things I need to do. And then there’s that voice that tells me I’m crazy to walk into my professional network space talking about my Jesus devotional.
But God opens doors for a reason!

I’m so grateful I stayed the course. I may not know fully His reasons or the fruit of yesterday - but what I do know is this: I showed up. I chose to be brave and confident that He is good and wise in the paths He lays before me. And I had the chance to make new friends, share the message of REST with new people, and hopefully was able to be a blessing to someone and point them to Him. And I was so blessed by the conversations I had. And am excited to continue some of those conversations!

I hope you’ll help me celebrate this neat opportunity, but more importantly — I hope the Lord stirs up confidence and boldness in you to walk into whatever space He is inviting you to - and that you will trust His plans are always good!

PS - I have to share: if you need a cool space in the Ooltewah / Collegedale TN area for remote work, a shower or party, or any sort of gathering - check out ChattSpace - such a lovely local resource!
